DTN COMMENTS:  All is quiet in the country at midday, with the bulk of 
business done for the week. Having said that, a little cleanup here and 
there is still possible. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are 
around $165 in the South, and $266-plus in the North. 

This week Northern dressed deals have been marked at $264 to mostly $265, 
steady to $1 higher than last week's weighted averages. Southern live sales 
were listed at mostly $163, $1 lower than last week's weighted averages. 

Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 280.84 -1.94, select 270.07 +1.18), 
with moderate box movement (60.08 lds of choice cuts, 6.03 lds of select 
cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 9.67 lds of ground). Cattle futures at the top 
of the noon hour are mostly higher on live contracts but mostly lower on 
feeder issues.
